The book begins with an overview of the Canadian Army's role in the invasion of Normandy. It then examines the fighting in the Normandy countryside, the liberation of Paris, and the Battle of the Scheldt Estuary. The book also covers the Canadian Army's participation in the Rhineland campaign, the liberation of the Netherlands, and the final push into Germany. Throughout, the book provides a detailed analysis of the challenges and successes faced by the Canadians. It also includes a number of maps and illustrations.
